Boardman - Carolyn Marie Scanlon, 48, of Boardman, Ohio, died Thursday, December 31, 2009 at the Hospice House.
Mrs. Scanlon was born February 25, 1961 in Youngstown a daughter of Walter and Rita Andrews Bloom, and was a life long area resident.
She was a 1979 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, and attended Three Rivers Community College in Connecticut. Mrs. Scanlon was owner and operator of Carolyn's Exquisite Fingers and Toes. She was a member of the American Legion Post 427, in Youngstown, was a US Air Force veteran. She loved cooking, cleaning, and though the years touched many lives. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister and a great friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Scanlon, whom she married March 20, 1993, a daughter Holly Famularo of Seattle, WA; a step son Jason Scanlon of Northport, FL; two grandchildren, Liliana Scanlon and Priscilla Scanlon; two sisters Connie (Michael Syputa) Bloom of Seattle, WA, and Michele Bloom of Akron; one niece Kaiya Syputa of Seattle, WA; a brother-in-law Bill (Robin) Scanlon of New London, CT. She also is survived by her father and step mother, Ann Bloom and numerous aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rita Bloom.
Family and friends will be received Monday from 5-7 at St. Patrick in Hubbard, where a mass will follow at 7:00 pm, with Rev. Timothy H. O'Neill, officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers.
In lieu of flowers the Scanlon family suggests donations in Carolyn's name to Fr. O'Neill's, Difference Makers, 225 North Main Street, Hubbard OH 44425.
