Caroline Cowden

Lowellville - Caroline Cowden, 78, of Lowellville, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mrs. Cowden was born July 2, 1930 in Lowellville, a daughter of Lloyd and Mildred Ramage Newell. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Cowden was a member of the Johnson Club in Hillsville and a lifetime member of the Poland Grange. Her husband, John H. Cowden Sr., whom she married August 3, 1957, died March 1, 1994. She is survived by one daughter, Judy (Bob) Prater of Poland; one son, John (Michele) Cowden, Jr. of Lowellville; three grandchildren, Eva (Aaron Norman) Cowden, John H. Cowden, III and Erin T. Cowden, all of Lowellville; one great-grandchild, Malachi S. Cowden; two sisters, Lillian Berdie of Laughlin, Nevada and Peggy Fox of Lowellville; numerous nieces and nephews; and her auction family. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd L. Newell; and one sister, Betty Cikovich. There will be no calling hours.
