Carole M. DeRose

Carole M. DeRose, 69 Youngstown- Carole M. DeRose, 69, of 2563 Bainbridge died Saturday afternoon at St. Elizabethâa�a��s Hospital ICU after a brief illness. She was born May 24, 1933, in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Harold and Margarete Unger Calkins. Before moving to the area in 1966, Mrs. DeRose was a licensed cosmetologist earning the title of Master Stylist, and also owned her own shop, âa�A"Caroleâa�a��s Salonâa�a��. She attended both St. Joseph and St. Christine parishes. Mrs. DeRose enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandson, and her two dogs Spike and Bear. She also was devoted to her patron, St. Theresa. She leaves two daughters: Debra DeRose Barwick ; Lori DeRose; and a grandson: Daniel (Summer) Barwick, Jr. all of Youngstown; two sisters: Linda Duskin of Georgia; and Barbara Scindra of Palm Beach, FL; two brothers: Edward Calkins of Buffalo, NY; Mike Calkins of Hamburg, NY; and sister-in-law: Carol Calkins of Orlando, FL. She is preceded in death by her husband John R. âa�A"Jackâa�A� DeRose whom she married August 13, 1955, and who died April 9, 2000; a son John R. DeRose, Jr.; and a son-in-law Daniel Barwick, Sr., and her dog Tank. A memorial service will be held 3PM, Wednesday at the Davidson- Becker Funeral Home, Struthers, where friends may call from 1 âa�" 2:45 PM prior to the service.
