Carol Carmela Gizzi Griffith

Lowellville - Carol Carmela Gizzi Griffith, 84, passed away Thursday evening, March 21, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  

Carol was born March 7, 1940 in New Castle, PA,  a daughter of the late Dominic and Caroline (Sheldone) Gizzi.

She graduated from Lowellville High School in 1958 and was a lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley.  

Carol was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and sister.  She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

Carol loved cooking and  baking for her family and friends, and she especially loved coloring with her colored pencils. 

Carol is survived by two children, Michael A. (Jacalyn) Griffith of Lowellville, OH and Kathy Ann (René) Hidalgo of Saint Marys, GA;  six grandchildren, Michael R. (Jessica) Griffith, Hillary R. (Derek) Smith, Gina M. Fimognari, Andrea C. (Alan) Hermann, Nicholas T. (Shelby) Griffith, and Dominic A. (Sarah) Griffith;  and brother, Dominic "Dick" (partner, Bonnie Primavera) Gizzi.  

Besides her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Griffith; a son, Thomas "Ricky" Griffith; her sister-in-law, Sherry Gizzi; and her much loved grandson, Anthony V. Fimognari.  

Family and friends may call on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring Street in Struthers.  There will be a private funeral service to follow for Carol's immediate family.
