Youngstown - Carol M.Crittenden, 85, of Brownlee Woods, died late Friday evening, January 27, 2012 at her home.
Mrs. Crittenden was born November 10, 1926 in Youngstown, a daughter of Ray and Margret Beck Thomas.
She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and active with her class reunions. Mrs.Crittenden was a homemaker, who enjoyed cooking, baking, floral arranging, crafts, and ceramics.
Mrs. Crittenden was a member of Faith Community Covenant Church and its Women's Fellowship group. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Miriam Chapter 278 and its craft club, the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW No. 3538 in Struthers, the American Legion Auxiliary No. 737 of Lake Milton, Lake Milton Association, a Lake Milton VIP, St. Nicholas Senior Citizens, and the Boardman Park Senior Citizens. She also volunteered for the Board of Elections for over 30 years.
Mrs. Crittenden enjoyed playing in her Wednesday Card Club, which she was a proud member of for over 66 years, and she also belonged to several other card groups. She loved being with her family, both her home and lake friends, and enjoyed dancing.
She leaves her husband of 64 years, Claude H. Crittenden, whom she married March 20, 1947; son, Ray (Sandy) Crittenden of Cornelius, NC; daughter, Debbie (Tom) Keller of Lake Milton; five grandchildren, Christy (Dr. Jeff) Mocny, Jason Keller, Amy (Eric) Moore, Dustin (Jami) Keller, Cara (Michael) Dempsey; and one great-grandchild, Jackson Mocny.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant brother, Billy Thomas.
Services will be held Monday at 6 p.m. at the Faith Community Covenant Church. Entombment will take place at Lake Park Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received Monday from 4-5:45 p.m. at the church, prior to the service at the church.
