Struthers- Carol J. Campbell, 58, of 5550 Walnut Grove Circle, died Thursday morning at Hospice House. Carol was born August 7, 1949 in Youngstown, a daughter of George and Marie Judin Phillips. A 1967 graduate of Struthers High School, Carol graduated from Youngstown State University in 1971 with a major in education and minor in business. She went on to receive her masterâa�a��s degree in education from Youngstown State University. Carol taught Business Office Education and Accounting for Struthers High School for 31 years, retiring in 2002. After retirement, she worked for the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers, where she handled many office duties and was in charge of the annual Celebration of Remembrance Program for the Holidays and Pursuit of Excellence. She was a member of the Ohio Teacherâa�a��s Association, the National Teacherâa�a��s Association, Delta Kappa Gamma and was honored as a Jennings Scholar. Each year she proctored the ACT test and for many years was the Struthers Senior Class Advisor. Carol served on the Board of Directors for the Struthers Federal Credit Union and was also a volunteer for the Junior League of Goodwill and the Canfield Fair at the Arts and Crafts Barn. Carol was a member of Holy Family Church in Poland, where she was a member of Third Source and served on the Capital Campaign Committee for the Parish Center. Carol was a true homemaker and loved gardening and traveling. Besides her parents of Struthers, Carol leaves her husband, Charles E. âa�A"Chuckâa�A� Campbell, whom she married February 5, 1972; one daughter, Carolyn (Thomas) Styranec of Akron; one sister, Patricia (Michael) Almasy of Columbiana; and three grandchildren, Bradley, Jordan âa�A"Pinkieâa�A� and Grace Styranec. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland and 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Friends may call Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
