Carmela V. Madden, 84 Youngstown- Carmela V. Madden, 84, died Thursday evening surrounded by her family. Mrs. Madden was born April 6, 1920 in Youngstown, a daughter of Donato and Mary Dennison Maine. She was a 1938 graduate of Chaney High School. She went on to work at Stroussâa�a�� Department Store in the 1950âa�a��s in the Cosmetic Department. She then went to Lewis-Weinberger-Hill Cosmetology School, where she graduated in 1958. Cam was a self-employed hair stylist working out of her home for 44 years, still having seven customers at the time of her death. She was a member of Saint Christine Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minster for the homebound. She was an avid bowler and was involved in various leagues. Cam enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning tomatoes, and baking. She was a loyal Indians and Browns fan. She and her husband John enjoyed dancing to the Big Band Sounds and won many dance contests throughout the years. Mrs. Madden was a devoted grandmother and supported all of her grandchildren in their many endeavors. Her husband, John âa�A"JJâa�A� Madden, whom she married November 27, 1941, died January 6, 1998. She leaves two sons, Danny (Gerri) Madden of North Lima and Jack (Ruth)Madden of Canfield, one sister, Mariann Cellio of Canfield; one brother, Danny Maine of Green Bay, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren, Ruthie, Christie, Candace, and Jaclyn Madden all of Canfield; Daniel P. Madden of Struthers; Debbie (David) Seifert of Canfield, Greg Donchess of Youngstown, Mark (Sheri) Donchess of Canfield, and Bob Donchess of Fort Mill, SC; and 8 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Dr. William Maine, Richard P. Maine, and Tony Maine; and one sister, Bridget Cellio. Funeral services will be Tuesday 9:30 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and 10:30 AM at Saint Christine Church. Friends may call Monday 3-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial tributes may be given to the Patricia Hura Scholarship Fund at Canfield High School.
