Youngstown - Carmel B. Endress, 80, of Youngstown, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008 in the Hospice House. Mrs. Endress was born March 2, 1927 in Struthers, a daughter of Angelo and Betty Jackintelle Rucci. Mrs. Endress attended Struthers High School and was a homemaker. Mrs. Endress loved to cook and bake. She also loved to watch cooking shows on television and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Her husband, Harry E. Endress, whom she married August 31, 1950, died November 12, 1998. She leaves her daughter, Louise (Paul) Monus of Struthers; three grandsons, Matthew Monus of Gahanna, and Thomas and Daniel Monus, both of Struthers; a sister-in-law, Gerry Rucci of Boardman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Nicholas A. Rucci. Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Bob Reese officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Park Cemetery. Family and friends will be received Friday from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45-10:15 a.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Endress' family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at Hospice of the Valley, the Hospice House, and caregivers, Sheila and Rose, for the great care they gave to both Carmel and her family.
