YOUNGSTOWN - Carlos Lopez, 82 of Youngstown, died Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown. Mr. Lopez was born February 13, 1927 in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, a son of Dolores and Julia Vasquez Lopez, moving to Youngstown in 1954 and eventually settled in Youngstown's Briar Hill area. He worked for 33 years as a Molder and Crain Operator for the Youngstown Sheet and Tube, Campbell works, retiring in 1987. Carlos was a Pittsburgh Pirates fan, loved listening to country music, the Briar Hill neighborhood. He had many friends and loved to tease and make his friends laugh. Carlos will be sadly missed by all who knew him. His wife, the former Mary Pallante, whom he married October 16, 1959 died March 16, 2005. Carlos is survived by three sons, Eugene (Joyce) Lopez and grandson, Parker of Youngstown with whom he had made his home before moving to the Briarfield, Carlos (Rona) Lopez of Texas, and Albert (Dorcas) Lopez of Florida; four daughters, Yolanda (Robert) MacDugall and Rose (Bob) McCormick both of Florida, Lady Melfi and Raquel Harris both of Youngstown, 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends. Besides his parents and wife, Carlos was preceded in death by two brothers, Miquel Lopez and Juan Duco, a sister, Anna Duco, his step-daughter Rosemary Woods, who took care of him through much if his illness, and his son-in-law, David Woods. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the Davidson Becker Funeral Home, Struthers, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am. Condolences may be sent at
