Carl R. Dittmar

Struthers - Carl R. Dittmar, 77, of Struthers, died Monday morning, July 29, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

Carl was born March 17, 1942 in Youngstown, a son of John and Evelyn Lakin Dittmar.

A 1960 graduate of Struthers High School, Carl worked as a machinist for United Engineering for 35 years. After retirement he worked in the maintenance department for Becker Funeral Homes. Carl enjoyed trap shooting and was a member of the Lowellville Rod & Gun Club and the Lawrence County Sportsman Club.

Carl leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, the former Bobbie Elgin, whom he married September 9, 1960; two daughters, Terri Comolli of Youngstown and Carol Dittmar of Struthers; one son, Kevin Dittmar of Indiana, PA; and one brother, John (Katherine) Dittmar of Tucson, AZ; .

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Mohr.

A service celebrating Carl's life will be held Sunday, 5:00 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers with Pastor James Berkebile officiating. Interment will follow later at the Lake Park Cemetery.

Friends will be received prior to the service on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
