Calvin R. Wagner, 87
NEW SPRINGFIELD Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman for Calvin R. Wagner, 87. He passed away Tuesday evening at Vibra Hospital.
Mr. Wagner was born Oct. 10, 1925, in Heshbon, Pa., a son of Alton R. and Rebecca (Byers) Wagner.
He started his working career as a mechanic who owned his own garage. He then went to work at Sheet & Tube Steel Company, then did carpentry work.
He retired as a die repairman for Fitsimmon Steel Company.
Calvin was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II and was a member of the New Springfield Church of God.
Surviving him are his wife, the former Helen Ragan, whom he married April 28, 1947; a daughter, Janice (James) Dorosky of Canton; two sons, Calvin R.
Wagner Jr. of New Springfield and Robert (Cheryl) Wagner of Canfield; two sisters, Grace Haire and Clara (Fred) Kline; two brothers, Ronald Wagner and Walter (Donna) Wagner; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Preceding him in death besides his parents, are a son, Kenneth L. Wagner; brothers, Donald, Ray and Everett Wagner; and a sister, Martha Adams.
Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m., both at the funeral home at our new location, 8536 Market St.
