Burton J. Brown, 96 Youngstown- Burton J. Brown, 96, of Park Vista formerly of Navajo Place in Poland died Sunday morning at Park Vista. Mr. Brown was born March 2, 1907 in New Springfield, a son of Harvey and Jennie Renkenberger Brown. He was a life-long area resident. He was a 1925 graduate of Columbiana High School and a 1929 graduate of Oberlin College with a Bachelor of Science in Business. He was employed in the accounting department of Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 33 years retiring in 1973. He served in World War II, in the Pacific, as a member of the Army in the 98th Infantry Division. He was a member of the New Springfield United Methodist Church. Besides his wife, the former Mary S. Stavich Smith with whom he married September 5, 1958 he leaves one step-daughter, Carol Burnard of Seattle Washington. His parents, two sisters, Helen Felger and Pauline Gates and two brothers Guy and Elbert Brown preceded him in death. Private services were held Tuesday at Poland Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
