Bruce Arthur Chinowth

June 1, 1965 — February 9, 2019

Poland- Bruce Arthur Chinowth, 53, formerly of Poland, passed away suddenly in Tukwila, WA on February 9, 2019.

Bruce was born June 1, 1965 in Youngstown, OH, a son of Edwin "Sonny" and Nancy (Yard) Chinowth.

Raised in Poland, Bruce was a 1983 graduate of Poland Seminary High School, where he played both football and baseball. After graduation, Bruce enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served in the 101st Airborne Division as an avionics repair specialist and crew chief on the Black Hawk Helicopter in Korea.

After his military service, Bruce was honorably discharged and returned to the area. He worked for Ohio Local # 84 Heat and Frost Pipe Insulators and spent much of his time traveling to most of his job sites. Bruce later relocated to the state of Washington, where he worked as a supervisor and superintendent of Sea-Tac Airport and DKB Incorporated. While in Poland, Bruce was a dedicated volunteer for the Poland Western Reserve Fire Department while his father, Sonny served as the fire chief.

Bruce's first priority was spending time with the light of his life, his daughter Taylor, the reason for his move to Washington. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, and also enjoyed singing karaoke. He had a contagious laugh and was the life of the party.

He is terribly missed by his mother, Nancy of Poland; his daughter, Taylor Chinowth of West Richland, WA; his sister, Lori (Chris) Jackson of Cincinnati; half-sister, Cheryl Livingston of Tampa, FL; step-children Jerry and Natalie Travis; three nieces, Amanda (Justin) Coach, Aly (Jason) Avenstein, and Brianna Jackson; a nephew, Matthew Jackson; and a great-nephew, Rowan Coach.

In addition to his father Sonny, Bruce was preceded in death by his half-brother, Eddie Chinowth.

A Memorial Service celebrating Bruce's life will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman Poland Road, with Pastor Dan Yargo officiating.
