Brian Joseph Mentges, 33, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 30, 2019 at the Cleveland Clinic. A private funeral service for family members will be held on Tuesday at the Davis Becker Funeral Home in Boardman.
Brian was born July 31, 1985, the son of Thomas and Barbara Hartley Mentges.
He was a graduate of Poland Seminary High School and attended Youngstown State University and Kent State. He was an I.T. for Pymatuning Rehabilitation Services in Jefferson, Ohio and worked, with his Aunt Carol, at the Ursuline Mother House as a speech and hearing aide.
Brian played tennis in high school and continued to enjoy it later in life. He loved being outside and walking in Mill Creek Park when the weather was nice. Brian was a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians and he volunteered at many local food banks.
To know Brian was to love him. He was a very caring and compassionate young man. Brian will be truly missed by all that knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Tom and Barbara; his sister, Jennifer, and nephew Enzo, who he called "Little Dude", several aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.
Brian was preceded in death by both grandparents; two aunts, Fran Hartley and Mary Hartley; and an uncle, David Mentges.
