Boardman - Brian R. Dunn, 48, of Boardman, died Thursday afternoon at Hospice of the Valley Hospice House after a short, but courageous battle with cancer.
Brian was born October 22, 1964 in Youngstown, a son of James and June Settle Dunn.
He was raised in Poland and was a 1984 graduate of Poland Seminary High School and vice president of his class. Brian worked for X-10, Extendit Paving Company in Youngstown for over 20 years. Prior to X-10 Paving, Brian was co-owner of the former Jean Rays Floral and Gift Shop in Poland.
Brian had an RV and loved camping and fishing at Mosquito Lake. He especially enjoyed hanging out in the evening, with friends, sitting around the bonfire, listening to crickets. Brian's artistic talents led him to photography, crafting and ceramics. He would sell his works to help raise money for people who were benefited through fund raisers.
Brian leaves four sisters, Marilyn (Jerry) Nolder and Suzie (Chip) Anderson, both of Poland, Laurie (Jack) Brammer and Barb (Toni) Sevi, both of Struthers; three brothers, Jim (Michele) Dunn of Boardman, Jerry Dunn of Struthers, and Tim (Gina) Dunn of AL; thirteen nieces and nephews, Tammie, Wendy, April, Misty, Keith, Ben, Jenny, Brian, Timmy, Udo, Yvonne, Marie and Uli; eight great nieces and nephews, AJ, Vanna, Markey, Landon, Ella, Ryan, Allison, Eve, Emily and Christopher; two aunts, Grace Wentink and Sondra Wilson; and his two cats, Trixie Ann and Tipper Tom McCoy.
Besides his parents, Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Mary Settle, and Howard and Muriel Dunn; one brother, Terry Dunn; one aunt, Nancy Moore; and two uncles, Paul and John Settle.
Services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers with Pastor Bob Donato officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Park Cemetery.
Friends will be received Sunday,from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
