Bonnie G. Williams

October 26, 1939 — May 6, 2018

Bonnie G. Williams, 78, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Masternick Memorial Health Care Center, surrounded by family.

Bonnie was born on October 26, 1939 in Youngstown, a daughter of Joseph and Mabel (Westwood) Edie.

Raised on the south side of Youngstown, Bonnie was a 1957 graduate of South High School. Shortly after graduation, she married the love of her life, Edward J. Williams, Sr. on June 29, 1957. They lived in Struthers for many years before moving to Poland in 1971.

In 1976, Mrs. Williams received her real estate agent certification and later her certification in cosmetology from the Boardman Beauty Academy. Bonnie worked as a realtor for numerous agencies in the area including, Del, Dave Roberts, Howard Hanna, Coldwell Banker Volpini, and Klacik. When the real estate market would get slow, she would teach cosmetology classes at Boardman Beauty Academy and Raphael Beauty School. While selling real estate, one of her buyer's introduced her to East Coast Pageants, and she served as their director, traveling throughout the United States running the pageants.

Mrs. Williams was a former member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Poland and bowled for many years in the Struthers PTA Bowling League.

Bonnie loved being a grandmother and took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren, Kelly and Joe. Bonnie also loved music and dancing, planting in her flower beds, designing landscapes, and flower arranging. She would often help out making floral arrangements at the former Millard's Florist in Poland at their busy times of the year. Bonnie and her husband also had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, rescuing many over the years and enjoying their faithful companionship.

Bonnie leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Beth Williams of Poland and Natalie (Scott Blakney) Flick of Red Lion, PA; son, Edward J. Williams, Jr.; two grandchildren, Kelly Williams and Joe Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Ed, who preceded her in death on August 11, 2012, Bonnie was preceded in death her brother, Donald G. Edie.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 1-1:45 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland, where a memorial service celebrating Bonnie's life will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Rusty Wills officiating.

The family would like to express their appreciation and thank Masternick Memorial Health Care Center and Hospice of the Valley for the wonderful and compassionate care they gave to Bonnie.
