Poland - Bobbie L. Cather, 65, died Thursday evening, March 22, 2018 at University Hospital’s Seidman Cancer in Cleveland, Ohio.
Bobbie was born January 22, 1953 in Danville, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Luella (Shelton) Tynes. She is survived by her husband Kenneth, two sons, Kenneth Cather of Brooklyn NY and Justin (Rachel) Cather of Akron and her sister Billie Smith of Florida.
At a young age, she moved to Quebec, Canada with her family and later to Massachusetts, where she graduated from David Prouty High School. After graduation, she enlisted in the United States Air Force. While stationed at Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota, she met Kenneth Cather who was also stationed there. They were wed on August 2, 1973 in Massachusetts and relocated to the Youngstown area.
After relocating to Ohio, Bobbie attended Youngstown State University and received her Associate's Degree in Computer Information. She previously worked for Roadway Transportation at their headquarters in Akron in the purchasing department and help desk. Most recently, Bobbie worked as a registered tax preparer for H&R Block in Salem.
She was an active member of Bethel Friends Church in Poland. In her free time, Bobbie loved making crafts, including cards and candles. She also enjoyed knitting and sharing her creations with family and friends.
A memorial service celebrating Bobbie's life on Tuesday, March 27 at Bethel Friends Church, 2771 Spitler Rd., Poland. A brief calling hour will be from 10:00 to 10:45 with the service to begin at 11:00.
