Beverly Jean Schenk, 76
Struthers - Beverly J. Schenk, 76, died Saturday, June 1, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Beverly was born May 28, 1943 in Youngstown, a daughter of Ralph and Ada Jane (Green) Hubler.
A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of South High School. Beverly was a very talented seamstress as she had her own shop called Beverly's Fashions, specializing in wedding, prom, and bridesmaids dresses as well as high design satin stitched sweatshirts. At one time, her and her husband, designed and made one of these items for a well known Nashville Recording Artist. Beverly held a seat on the Executive Board of the Industrial Center for Learning as the secretary and treasurer and was also co-owner of The Kitchen Mechanic Company and Maine Woodcraft.Services.
A woman of unwavering faith, Beverly was most recently a member of the Church of the Rock and a previous member of New Life Assembly and Tabernacle Presbyterian. Beverly and her husband Ed were both lay ministers and lay evangelists, with her favorite ministry being working with inmates.
Beverly was faithfully devoted to her family and enjoyed spoiling them along with the family cat, Porker. She was a gourmet cook and they were rewarded with many fine meals over the years.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Edward Schenk, whom she married June 4, 1966; two children, Eric (Lisa) Schenk of Lowellville and Heidi (Richard) Dunlap; three grandchildren, Zachary and Zane Schenk and Connor Dunlap; two sisters-in-law, Julie Hubler of Brookfield and Paula Clark; and special cousin, Jody Lewis of Boardman.
In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her brother, James Hubler.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Church of the Rock, 7025 Luteran Lane in Poland, where family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
