YOUNGSTOWN - Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Gibson Hts. Second Presbyterian Church for Beverly M. Ingram Johnson, 92. She passed away Tuesday morning at Hospice House in North Lima.
Mrs. Johnson was born Aug. 10, 1918, in Youngstown, daughter of Edward H. and Mabel Gier Coates.
As a young woman, she worked at McKelvey's Department Store and at Youngstown Tent and Awning during World War II. Following the war, Beverly became a housewife and mother, raising three children. Once her children were in school, she worked at Sears, Roebuck & Co. as a credit correspondent until she retired after 25 years.
Beverly was a member of the church, where she served as deacon and an active member of the Jolly Rovers travel club. Volunteer time was spent working in the offices of Protestant Family Services. She enjoyed a life long club relationship with a group of high school friends as well as being a member of the 4:30 Social Club.
Her first husband, Glenn H. Ingram, whom she married Sept. 4, 1941, died Aug. 2, 1973. Her second husband, Theodore R. Johnson, whom she married June 15, 1989, died Oct. 8, 2003.
Surviving her is a son, Dennis C. (Audrey) Ingram of McDonald and two daughters, Terri L. (Allen) Maurer of Bath and Melanie (Patrick) Leonard of Canfield. She leaves eight grandchildren, Dennis A. Ingram, Tammi (Bob) Clayton, Leighann Forward, Kevin (Dawn) Ingram, Jason Ingram, Shawna Leonard, Brendan Leonard and Darren Maurer; as well as 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Virginia Coates of Austintown.
Preceding her in death besides her husbands and parents are two brothers, Edward Jr. and Jack Coates.
Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman and on Saturday from noon to 12:50 p.m. at the church, prior to her service.
