Betty J. Woods, 81 STRUTHERS- Betty J. Woods, 81, of 30 Sells Avenue died Monday evening at Select Specialty Hospital. She was born December 14, 1921 in Struthers, a daughter of George and Lucille Miller Denmeade. She was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Woods was a 1940 graduate of Struthers High School. She was a civilian secretary at the Wright Field in Dayton. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 86 and a member of Bethel Friends Evangelical Church. She enjoyed knitting and playing bingo, and spending time with her grandkids. She leaves her husband, Harry E. Woods, whom she married April 14, 1943; three sons, Harry David (Rosemary) Woods of Warren, Larry G. ( Gloria ) Woods of Struthers, Ricky ( Connie ) Woods of Crystal Lake, IL; three sisters, Shirley (Bill) Leck of Struthers, Marion ( Steve ) Bator of Girard, and Jean ( Bill ) Wilson of New Middletown; four brothers, Robert ( Fran ) Denmeade of California, Donald ( Doris ) Denmeade of Youngstown, and Ray ( Judy ) Denmeade of Poland; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister âa�"in-law Ruth Denmeade. She was preceded in death by one brother, George Denmeade. Funeral services will be Friday 10 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
