Boardman - Betty Lou Walker, 87, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Sunrise Assisted Living. She was born February 8, 1929 in Youngstown, to the late Paul and Cora Wellendorf Blosser.
Betty was a 1947 graduate of Boardman High School and went on to earn her Nursing Degree from St. Luke's School of Nursing in Cleveland. She was employed as a Registered Nurse with the Youngstown Hospital Association and retired as Director of Nursing from Forum Health in 1996, following 45 years of employment. Betty was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she belonged to the Circle of Love. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of several bridge clubs. Betty will be deeply missed.
She leaves her three daughters, Susan (Joel Shutt) Walker of Gurnee, IL, Linda (Tom) Diak of Chester, VT and Cheril (Greg Gfell) Walker of Kent, OH; her sister, Virginia (Charles) Trebilcock of Bainbridge, OH; her grandchildren, Eli, Christopher, Ben, Noah, David, Nicholas, Tony, Justin and Abigail; former husband, James Walker of Poland; special friends, Dina and Jason Evans of Boardman and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Morgan and her brother, Howard Blosser.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February, 17, 2017 at 1:30pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Dr. in Boardman, with the Rev. David Joachim officiating.
Friends will be received prior to the service from 12:30pm-1:30pm at the church.
The Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman is handling arrangements.
The family asks that any memorial donations be made, in Betty's name, to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Dr. Boardman, OH 44512.
