Poland - Betty E. Malysa, 78, of Poland, died Sunday evening at Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House.
Betty was born November 16, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of Henry and Betty Elizabeth Nesz Lohr.
A1950 graduate of Allegheny High School, Betty moved to this area in 1958. She at one time worked at Woolco Department Store in Boardman.
Betty was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in New Middletown where she was an active volunteer. Betty loved craft shows, enjoyed needle point and traveling through Amish Country.
Her husband David Malysa, whom she married July 3, 1954, died February 6, 2006. She leaves three sons, David (Jackie) Malysa of Denver, CO, Steve (Lynda) Malysa of Indianapolis, IN, and Ken (Debbie) Malysa of Poland; one brother, Daniel (Janet) Lohr of Pittsburgh, PA; seven grandchildren, Stephen Malysa, Kimberly Smith, Tiffany Hootman, Jeremy Malysa, Randy Chapman Malysa, Brian Malysa, Samantha Daily Malysa; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Eddie Malysa.
A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, 11:00 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the church.
