Poland - Betty J. Lint, 84, of Poland, died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Altus Hospice and Health in Atlanta, Georgia.
Mrs. Lint was born August 20, 1926 in Mather, PA, a daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Eaton) Stiles.
She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in PA. Mrs. Lint worked as a Sales Department Manager for Horne's Department Store, retiring after 11 years. She was a member of the Poland United Methodist Church and was actively involved in many of its programs. Mrs. Lint loved to golf and was a member of several senior golf leagues and enjoyed spending time with her family. She also loved her adopted town of Poland.
Her husband, Leonard L. "Ted" Lint, Jr., whom she married February 2, 1955, died August 14, 2008. She leaves four daughters, Billie (Kenny) Lint-Doty of Woodstock, GA, Linda Lint-Kizar, Bonnie (Kirk) Lint-Denmeade, and Terri Lint-Emler all of Orange Park, FL.; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer (Bennie) Radcliff of Jacksonville, FL, Darcy Faith (Aaron Clark) Callan of Woodstock, GA, Sean Michael (Laura D'Agostin) Callan of Woodstock, GA, Roni-Lyn Kizar of Parma, Jake Kizar of Poland, David (Carrie) Emler of Beaver, PA, and Rachel (Rick Stanavech) Emler of Youngstown; 9 great-grandchildren, Peyton Caroline Radcliff, Anthony Joseph Bernardi, Anneliese Raine Emler, Zachary Jonathan Emler, Elijah Joseph Samson, Taylor Rene Stanavech, Logan Paul Stanavech, Jaden Caroline Gambill, and Neko Christopher Callan; son-in-law, Ron Kizar of Lowellville; sister-in-law, Betty Stiles of Rices Landing, PA; and brother-in-law, Stanford "Zip" Zimmerman of Waynesburg, PA.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Lint was preceded in death by her brother, William Stiles; sister, Isabel Zimmerman; and grandson, Dylan Emler.
She was loved by all who knew her. She lived through life's adversities with dignity and grace. She has left behind big shoes to fill. May those of us who knew her and loved her strive to live by her examples. Heaven knocked and she opened the door. The angels are rejoicing. Betty has come home!!!!
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 6 p.m. at the Poland United Methodist Church, where family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
