Youngstown - Betty G. Hatlaban, 92, died October 8, 2013 at her residence .
Mrs. Hatlaban was born June 21, 1921 in Mountain Top, PA, daughter of William and Mary Richards Houser.
She was a 1940 Fairview High School graduate. Betty riveted tail sections of planes at the aircraft plant during WWII. She also worked at Philco for a few years and later became a homemaker.
She was a faithful member Faith Community Church, where she was in the choir. She was also active in the Brownlee Woods Senior Citizens and the Fortress Class. She was a former member of the Railroad Workers Ladies Auxiliary Lodge.
Betty loved to crochet, playing the organ, and story telling.
Her husband, Stephen Thomas Hatlaban Sr., whom she married Sept. 15. 1949, died Nov. 4, 1978.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan Hatlaban of Youngstown; one son, Stephen (Barbara) Hatlaban Jr. of Indianapolis, IN; two grandchildren, Victoria Hatlaban and Stephen Hatlaban III.
Besides her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by siblings, Austin Houser, Luther Houser, and Peggy Houser.
Services will be held at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home Poland, Friday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mary Jo Berry officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
Friends will be received Friday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
