Betty Jean Evans

Poland - Betty Jean Evans, 70, of Arrel Rd, died Thursday, July 5, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mrs. Evans was born September 2, 1936 in Carry, North Carolina, a daughter of Lemuel and Bertha Holland Dowdy. She was a member of the Struthers Presbyterian Church, where she was very active. Mrs. Evans also enjoyed needlepoint, gardening, and flowers Mrs. Evans is survived by her husband, Ronald J. Evans, whom she married March 24, 1956, two sons, Ronald Evans and Michael (Theresa) Evans both of Morganton, NC., two sisters, Carolyn Lachot of Morganton, NC., and Ann Luthje of Phillipsburg, MT; five grandchildren, Ronald Jr., Evans, Ryan (Nicole) Evans, April Evans, Steven (Amy) Evans, and Rachel Evans; and one great-grandson, Michael Knafels. Besides her parents, Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her son Stephen Evans. Funeral services will be held Monday, 1:30 PM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Breazier officiating. Interment will follow in the Lake Park.
