Betty Jane Collins

Poland - Betty Jane Collins, 89, of Poland, died March 23, 2009 at the Greenbriar. Mrs. Collins was born January 11, 1920 in Garrettsville, the daughter of Edward and Eva Donegan Weden. She was a graduate of South High School and was a homemaker. Mrs. Collins was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, where she belonged to its Women's Group and the Sewing Circle. She also was a member of the Retired Officer's Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Collins was always known and will be remembered for sending "sunshine cards" to her family, friends, and fellow congregation members. Her husband, William Collins, died January 7, 1992. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Collins; her brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Isabella Weden. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 1-2 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Charles Lundquist officiating.
