Boardman - Leberata (Bertha) A. Conti, 77, died May 19, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Conti was born July 4, 1936, in Youngstown, a daughter of Ralph and Emma Gentile Genova.
She attended Struthers High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church.
Bertha was well known for her Sunday dinners that were open to all. Her biggest attribute was bringing her family and friends close together.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt whom was very giving to all those in need. She also enjoyed bowling and playing cards.
Her husband, Frank Conti, whom she married Oct 27, 1956, died Sept. 11, 1984.
She is survived by three daughters, Debbie (Jim) Bertrando of Struthers, Sandy (Tom) Andres of Canfield, and Cindy (John) Delsander of Youngstown; two sons, Frank (Elizabeth) Conti of Boardman, Gary (Marci) Conti of Youngstown; a sister, Sandy Bell of Boardman; two brothers, Ralph (Jane) Genova of Poland and Vincent Genova (Chris) of Poland; eleven grandchildren, Tommy Bergagna, Jimmy Bertrando, Tom Andres, Brittany (Tony) Cabuno and Alyssa and Frank Conti Jr. Angela (Eric)Slick, George Pfender, Nicholas Conti, John and Nicolette Delsander; seven great-grandchildren, Mia Bergagna, Adison and Lily Cabuno, Ethan, Brandon, Cameron and Bella Slick; many loving nieces and nephews, and friends.
Besides her husband and parents , Bertha was preceded in death by two brothers, Nick DiGenova and Tony Genova.
A prayer service will held Friday at 10:15 AM at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
The family would like to give special thanks to her sister Sandy "Toot" and sister-in-law, Rachele DiGenova, and special friend Lucy Papalia.
They would also like to thank Dr Ieraci and Dr. Conti for their compassionate care.
