Berneice Taaffe

Berneice Taaffe, 100 Poland- Berneice Taaffe, 100, formerly of 42 Delaware, died Monday afternoon at the Shepherd of the Valley Poland. She was born in Youngstown April 22, 1904, a daughter of Russell and Grace Haid Thrasher. She was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Taaffe was a 1923 graduate of The Rayen School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Poland Strollers Dance Club, the Ball and Chain Dance Club, and the Poland Sewing Club. Her husband, Leo A. Taaffe, whom she married, in 1924, died in 1986. She leaves two daughters, Marilyn Morrison of Poland and Jere Boyer of Lorain, OH; one son, Richard Taaffe of Austintown; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 3 great- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Carol Jean Hetrick and Donna Hardie; and one grandchild, Bill. Funeral services will be held Thursday 3PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
