Poland- Benjamin Felix Colangelo, Sr., 76, of Poland, died Monday, February 23, 2009 at Select Specialty Hospital. Mr. Colangelo was born April 22, 1932 in Struthers, the son of Anthony and Mary Felice Colangelo. He was a 1951 graduate of Struthers High School and worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 33 years. Mr. Colangelo was a member of the Struthers Baptist Tabernacle, St. Lucy's Club in Hillsville, and the NRA. He enjoyed gardening. Mr. Colangelo was a United States Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He leaves his wife, the former Barbara Johnson, whom he married April 30, 1960; two sons, Anthony (Shari) Colangelo of Poland and Benjamin (Christina) Colangelo, Jr. of Austintown; two daughters, Cathy Colangelo of Boardman and Joyce (Don) Shade of Tracy, CA; two sisters, Josephine (Frank) Rubino of Poland and Violet (Erminio) Malvestuto of Poland; one brother, Anthony C. Colangelo of Boardman; 10 grandchildren, Shawna (Ryan) Gains of Poland, Michael, Maria, Miranda, Brandon, and Dylan Colangelo, Richie, Lee, Benny, and John Shade; two nieces, Mary (Calvin) Pannunzio of Boardman and Theresa Malvestuto of Poland; three nephews, Joe (Toni) Malvestuto of Petersburg, Lou (Bonnie) Malvestuto of Struthers, and Frank (Diane) Rubino of Poland; and several great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Colangelo and his niece, Gilda Brown. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
