Beatrice Cunning, 85, of Omni Manor, formerly of New Springfield, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning at the nursing home.
Beatrice was born June 30, 1925 in Youngstown, a daughter of Dominic and Thekla Coury Nakley.
She was raised in Youngstown and attended Ursuline High School. She worked at Republic Rubber Works and General Fireproofing before her marriage. Beatrice was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and a former member of St. Maron Catholic Church. Beatrice enjoyed photography and traveling.
Her husband Francis X. Cunning, whom she married October 28, 1963, died December 28, 1999. She leaves her sisters, Helen (Tony) Tombo of Liberty, Florence Wansack of Youngstown, Joann Nakley also of Youngstown, Betty Roccanova of Staton Island, NY; one brother, Thomas Nakley of Gaithersburg, MD; one sister-in-law, Sue Nakley of Youngstown; numerous nieces and nephews; great- nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Beatrice was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Menaldi, Ann Nakley and Catherine Nakley; and one brother, Raymond, Nakley.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
