HUBBARD- Barbara J. Swan, 87, passed away on Thursday evening, February 27, 2014 at the Hospice House.
Barbara was born on August 11, 1926 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late William and Dorothy Pratt Cummings.
She was a 1945 graduate of Jamestown High School. On February 22, 1947, Barbara married her husband, Winston Swan. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. Barbara and her family moved to Hubbard in 1963.
In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with her husband, camping, reading, and she especially enjoyed American history.
Her husband, Winston Swan, died March 7, 2012. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Rene) Vantol of Round Rock, TX, Mary (Joel) Baker of Struthers; three sons, Lee (Lori) Swan of Hubbard, David (Lucy) Swan of Marysville, and William (Lisa) Swan of Aurora; seven grandchildren, Robert (Julie) Swan, Keith (Tracy) Swan, Heather (Chad) Swannie, Maia Vantol, Adrienne (Patrick) Harkin, Hannah Swan and Andrew Swan; and five great-grandchildren, Natalie, Meredith, Evan, Owen, and Isabella.
There will be no calling hours or services. Arrangements are being handled by the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers.
