STRUTHERS - Barbara Helen (Biroschak) Miner departed this life on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, at Salem Regional Hospital.
She was born in Poland on Oct. 8, 1934, to Emery and Helen Biroschak, and grew up on a farm, learning the importance of family.
Barbara was a graduate of Poland Seminary High School in 1952. She worked as a receptionist for American General Life until she married. She was then a homemaker and later was an Avon Representative for 30 years.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. Her passion was her deep devotion to her children and grandchildren in all aspects of their lives. She always put the needs of her children and grandchildren ahead of her own and was a wonderful example of true motherhood.
Barbara was a very generous and caring person who contributed to many local and national charities, with children being her main focus and where she donated to The Child Fund for over 30 years.
Barbara was very strong in her faith and was a member of the Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas, as well as Holy Trinity. She was also a member of the VFW Post 3538 Ladies Auxiliary in Struthers and was an avid sports fan, with the Cleveland Indians being her favorite team.
Her husband, Stephen Miner, whom she married Aug. 31, 1957, died Sept. 17, 2014. She is survived by a daughter, Christine (Robert) Franz of Columbus; a son, Stephen (Pam) Miner of Wapakoneta; a sister, Patricia (Jack) Milliken of Poland; a brother, Emery (Irma) Biroschak of Poland; three grandchildren, Matthew Miner, Kaitlyn (Steve) Niehaus, and Stephen A.
