Barbara J. (Macovitz) Facciola Youngstown- Barbara J. (Macovitz) Facciola, 76, of Youngstown, passed away September 13, 2007 at Liberty Health Care after a long battle with cancer. She was born August 29, 1931 in Struthers, a daughter of William and Eva Taylor Boland. She grew up in Struthers and graduated from Struthers High School in 1950. Barb was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, baking and dancing. She had worked at Treasure Island Department Store and Strouss Department Store in the sewing machine department before retiring. Barb was also a self-employed cake decorator from 1966 to 1988. Barb belonged to several 500 Card Clubs and was a member of the âa�A"Cane & Ableâa�A� Red Hat Society Club. She worked on the Board of Elections from 1967 to 2005. She also was a Boy Scout Den Mother and Campfire assistant. She was loved dearly by her family, as they were her greatest joy. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Macovitz, whom she married on November 1, 1950. They moved to Youngstown in 1953. He passed away on January 20, 2004. Barb married her second husband, Frank Anthony Facciola, of Bovard, Pa on May 6, 1978 and he preceded her in death on October 29, 1991. Barb leaves her three children, Joyce (Gary) Yankowski of Canfield, Gary Macovitz of North Carolina, and David Macovitz of Struthers; five grandchildren, Stacey Yankowski of Boardman, Sarah Macovitz of Austintown, Geary Macovitz of Youngstown, Timothy Macovitz of Struthers, and Nicholas Macovitz of Masury; two brothers, James (Loyce) Boland of North Carolina and Howard (Mona) Boland of Florida; one stepbrother, Ernie (Janet) Augustine of North Carolina; a stepsister-in-law, Carol Augustine of Girard; along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, William Raymond Boland; her step-mother, Priscilla Boland; and step-brother, Bob Augustine. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers where funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Lowellville Cemetery.
