Barbara Ann Donchess (Booher), a cherished member of the Struthers community, passed away peacefully on November 25, surrounded by her loving family. She was 78 years old.
A lifetime resident of Struthers, Barbara was known for her compassionate nature and deep love for her family. She was a devoted mother who found immense joy in celebrating holidays, often delighting her family with unique gadgets she discovered on her favorite channel, QVC.
Her creativity shone through in the kitchen, where she was a familiar face at Giant Eagle, always on the lookout for interesting items to craft into fun appetizers and dinners.
Barbara's love for animals was evident throughout her life, as she cared for many beloved dogs, treating them as cherished family members. Her warmth extended to all creatures, reflecting her beautiful soul.
A proud graduate of Struthers High School, class of 1964, Barbara maintained lifelong connections with her classmates and community. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Harold Booher; her mother, Mary Kay Booher Peck; and her loving husband, Robert Donchess. She is survived by her children, Bradley (Brynette) Birmingham, Joshua Donchess, Nicholas (Tara) Donchess, and Regina (Kevin) Lancaster. She leaves behind her siblings, Robert (Peggy) Booher and Toni Sprecht; stepchildren, Bob (Danielle), Debbie (David), Mark (Sheri), and Greg (Linda). And her step grandchildren, Ethan Yuengert and Nikalas Cunningham; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a beautiful soul, a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and friend. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A private family service will be held to honor Barbara's life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local animal shelter in her memory, celebrating her love for animals.
