Barbara R. Boosinger, 86 of Boardman, passed away July 25, 2011 at St. Elizabeth-Boardman Campus.
Mrs. Boosinger was born July 11, 1925 in Chicago, IL. The daughter of Gerald Russell and Beatrice Billingham. She was raised in Long Beach, California.
Barbara was a War Bride, having met her husband Richard, of Youngstown, while he was serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, during World War II. Following his release from a nine month stay in a Naval Hospital recovering from wounds received in combat on Iwo Jima, they were married in San Francisco.
She worked as a secretary to the owner of Idora Park from the mid to late forties.
Barb was a devoted wife and a loving mother. She was an avid bowler in many area lanes in the fifties and sixties. She also, enjoyed surf fishing in the Outer Banks of North Carolina with her husband, having made some thirty trips there in her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, who passed Oct. 14th, 1987.
Services will be held Monday, 1:30 pm at The Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA

Her son David, wishes to express his heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff and residents of the Beeghly Oaks Skilled Nursing Facility on Market St. in Boardman. Their love, care, and compassion for Barb in her last months on this world enabled her to die with courage, dignity, and a smile on her face. Thank You.
