Aurelia Jean Oltean, 85, born July 3, 1930, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on May 1, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John Oltean; her parents Aurelia and Nicholas Isaila and her son-in-law, Thomas Griffith. She is survived by her daughter, Joan E. Oltean; her son, John N. Oltean and his wife Patricia; and her two grandsons, Eric and Elliott, whom she adored.
Aurelia was born in Campbell and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Youngstown College. She went on to become and elementary school teacher. After marriage, she moved to Poland and started a family. She worked with her husband to help him start and run his own engineering business. On her her loves was playing bridge, for which she attained the level of Master. Her other interests include playing golf and entertaining. Her love for her grandchildren was her strongest passion and she cherished being able to watch them grow.
Everyone who came in contact with "Rae" could sense her love of celebrating life. She had a passion for entertaining and socializing. She had a sense of style and grace and a giving spirit. Aurelia will be sadly missed by her family and the many friends she has acquired over the years.
