Venice, FL - Audrey Marie Young, 95, formerly of Brownlee Woods, died July 25, 2012 at Pinebrook Care and Rehabilitation Center in Venice, FL.
Mrs. Young was born September 15, 1916 in Youngstown, a daughter of Raymond and Mayme (Crowell) Sweeney. She moved from Youngstown to Florida in 1959.
She was a 1934 graduate of South High School and worked as a food service manager for Sarasota City Schools for 17 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the former Brownlee Woods Presbyterian Church and the United Pentecostal Church in Sarasota.
Her husband, Kenneth Young, whom she married January 14, 1939, died July 2, 1974. She leaves a daughter-in-law, Ruth Young of Florida; two grandchildren, Kimberly (Rick) Mowdy and Daniel Young, both of Florida; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Audrey Irene Young; son, Frederick Young; and brother, Raymond Sweeney.
There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Lake Park Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers.
