POLAND -- Attorney Theodore T. Macejko, Jr. 72 of Poland, passed away peacefully Friday, May 6, 2011, from complications of Dementia.
Attorney Macejko was born December 12, 1938 in Youngstown, a son of Theodore, Sr. and Helen Vargo Macejko.
He graduated from Struthers High School in 1956 and obtained his Law Degree from Ohio Northern University where he was a member and officer of the Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. Upon graduation from Ohio Northern and while waiting for the results of his Bar Exam he taught math at Lima Central Catholic High School in Lima and later at Cardinal Mooney High School in Youngstown, Ohio.
He went into law practice with his father, Ted Macejko, Sr. Together they maintained law offices in both Struthers and Youngstown for 42 years.
Attorney Macejko was involved in teaching "you and the law" adult classes in the Mahoning County Area in the early years of Law Practice.
During his years of practicing Law he served as President of the Mahoning County Bar Association and served also as a visiting Judge in the Struthers courts on various occasions. He was a member of the Ohio State Bar and practiced in Mahoning County, until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of the Holy Family Parish in Poland where he served on Parish Council as well as a lector for many years. He was a passionate Browns and Indians fan. He was also an avid golfer, and enjoyed many years playing in a league at Mill Creek Park.
Besides his wife, Theresa "Dolli" Alfonso Macejko whom he married in 1961. Ted leaves four children to cherish his memory, Ted III (Carol) Macejko of Stow, Theresa (Robert) Clarahan of Franklin, PA; Todd Macejko of Poland, and Timothy Macejko of Florida; seven grandchildren, PFC Ted IV, and Joe Macejko, Theresa, Erin, Ellen, Katie and Bobby Clarahan, all of whom enjoyed and loved time they were blessed to spend with their grandfather, at Browns and Indians games; Vacationing in Conneaut, Ohio or just being together at family outings. Ted was also a regular spectator at his children's and grandchildren's performances on fields and stages. Attorney Macejko also leaves a sister Nadyne Macejko of Youngstown, two brothers, Dr. Thomas (Jean) Macejko and David Macejko both of Cincinnati. A sister-in-law Alice Cosentino of Hudson, Janice (Dom) Mundo of Ellwood City, PA.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Cathy Finn Macejko and three brothers-in-law Sal Cosentino, Earl and Sonny Alfonso.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, in Poland, and Wednesday from 8:15 am to until 9:15 am., where prayers will be said. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Holy Family Church in Poland, with Rev. Msgr. William Connell officiating.
Ted's family would like to thank all those who showed compassionate care and charity during his time of need.
