New Middletown - Arvella G. Harris, 92, formerly of Boardman, died Friday afternoon, August 7, 2015 at Masternick Memorial Health Care Center.
Mrs. Harris was born August 1, 1923 in Oil City, PA, a daughter of August and Clara Neubauer Ahrens.
She was a 1941 graduate of Struthers High School and volunteered at the Youngstown Christian School. Arvella previously worked for United Engineering and Penn Ohio Jr. College. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Boardman and a former longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church in Struthers.
Her husband, Earl E. Harris, whom she married July 9, 1949, preceded her in death on October 24, 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Gerzina of Knox, PA; granddaughter, Jenny Todd; and two great grandchildren, Nolan and Macy Todd.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Adelaide Lapham and Joan Peplow.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman. Interment will be at Lake Park Cemetery.
Memorial tributes may take the form of contributions in Mrs. Harris' name to the Boardman Public Library, 7680 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, Ohio 44512.
