Arthur Dale Shears

Arthur Dale Shears, 91 Struthers-Arthur Dale Shears, 91, formerly of Lincoln Ave., died Thursday evening at Maplecrest Nursing Home. Mr. Shears was born August 30, 1914 in Youngstown, a son of Arthur and Myra Clues Shears. He was a graduate of Struthers High School and Youngstown State University, where he graduated with honors. He was a Welfare Supervisor at the Mahoning County Social Services. He was a musician and taught piano at the Dale Shears School of Music. His wife, Susan Lucille Balbercak, whom he married August 19, 1940, died October 1, 1994. He leaves four daughters. Sandra Sue (Paul) Dodds of Youngstown, Terry Joyce (Paul) Lisko of Struthers, Denise Myra Withers of Poland, and Darlene Rae (Tom) George of Struthers and two sons Arthur Dale (Laura) Shears, Jr. of Okomos, MI., and Daryl(Lisa) Keith Shears of Boardman, seventeen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Shears. A private memorial service will be held Monday at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers.
