June 26, 1940 — September 3, 2024

Youngstown

Youngstown - Armeda Louise Maravola, 84, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024 at the Hospice House in Poland.

She was born June 26, 1940 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Fred and Rose (Bozzacco) DiPasqua. She graduated from Campbell Memorial High School in 1958, and for a time stayed home to raise her children before becoming a certified nursing assistance for Villa Marie & Sateri (Ron Joy). She was a member of Christ of King Parish (formerly St. Lawrence Church), where she faithfully served as a lector and was a member of the Christian Mothers.

Armeda was a wonderful cook and baker, renowned for her delicious kolachi and lady locks, which were always a highlight at gatherings. An avid and skilled bowler, she enjoyed the sport immensely. She was also a devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians, cheering on her teams with great enthusiasm.

Her love for opera and classical music was profound, and she had an impressive knowledge of the genre. This passion was something she cherished and shared deeply with her beloved husband, with whom she was inseparable until his passing. Together, they created a life filled with music, love, and mutual respect.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Andrea (Bill) Woods of Newton Falls, James A. (Ellen Zban) Maravola Jr. of Youngstown, Michael (Barb) Maravola of Hillsville, PA, and Matthew (Stacey) Maravola of New Castle, PA; her grandchildren, Ashly (Matt) Hogue, Lauren (John) Puskar, Jessica Rena (Shawn) Knauf, Michael (Katelyn) Maravola, Elizabeth (Tyler Asburay) Maravola, Alexis (Ryan) Sherwood, and Dominique Maravola; her great-grandchildren, Colin, Camryn, Mya Bella, Madeline, Greyson, and Maverick; and her siblings, Marie Roussin of Woodbine, GA and Fred (Diane) DiPasqua of Poland.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Maravola, whom she married August 1, 1959 and who passed away January 17, 2004.

Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024 at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman, followed immediately by a memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m.. She will be laid to rest with her husband at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Hillsville, Pennsylvania.
