Archie J. Lagnes, 84 Poland- Archie J. Lagnes, 84, of 7580 North Lima Road died Tuesday afternoon at The Greenbriar in Boardman. Mr. Lagnes was born March 24, 1918 in Youngstown, a son of Carl and Amelia Rochiola Lagnes. He was a life-long area resident. He was a craneman for Republic Steel for over 35 years retiring in 1975. He was a member of Holy Family Church in Poland where he was an usher. He was an active member of St. Vincent DePaul and a member of the Knights of Columbus #4471 in Poland. Mr. Lagnes was a former 5th Ward, Precinct Committeeman in Youngstown and former Poland Township Committeeman. He was very active in both the Youngstown and Poland Democratic Parties. He was founder and former coach for both the Fosterville Midgets Football Team, Youngstown and Poland Little League Bull Dogs. Mr. Lagnes leaves his wife the former Emma May Boerio whom he married May 15, 1964. One sister Anne Lagnes preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be Friday, 9:30 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and 10:00 AM at Holy Family Church. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home where the Knights of Columbus will conduct a memorial service at 7:45 PM.
