Anthony "Babe" Esarco, 87, died November 11, 2017 at 2:35PM at St. Elizabeth Health Center surrounded by many of his loved ones. He was born October 28, 1930 in New Castle, PA, a son of Giacomo and Susie DePrano Esarco.
He was a 1949 graduate of Lowellville High School. Anthony worked at Sharon Steel for over 50 years and after retirement he was called back as a consultant. He served stateside in the United States Marines, where he was a photographer.
Anthony was a great conversationalist who enjoyed tinkering, gardening, cooking,
photography, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.
His wife Mary Jo Esarco, whom he married Dec. 8, 1957, died March 5, 1996.
He leaves three sons, Timothy Esarco of Lowellville, Terrance Esarco of Boardman, and Gerald (Beth) Esarco of Hermitage; four daughters, Ann "Toni-Jean" Esarco of Lake Geneva, WI, Britheen Smith of Hillsville, PA, Patricia (John) Wardle of Poland, and Elizabeth Vanover of Lowellville; two sisters, Susie (James) Barone of Lowellville and Sandy (Frank ) Filisky of Lowellville; twelve grandchildren, Bryan (Antigonne), Christopher, Brittany (Enrique), John Anthony, Jacqueline (Nate), Mary Jo, Jacob, Antoinette, Van Anthony, Madison, Megan Rae, Lila Rose. He also leaves great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, Anthony was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack Esarco, Jr., and Alex Esarco, and Gerald Esarco.
A prayer service will be held Friday at 9:30AM at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 244 McGill St., Lowellville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church,at 10:00 AM with Fr. Larry Frient officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received Thursday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staff, doctors, and nurses of the CVIC Unit at St. Elizabeth Health Center for their professionalism and care doing their best in this difficult situation.
