Anthony D. Carbon Sr.

Anthony D. Carbon Sr., 75, died March 10, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Anthony was born February 25, 1943 in Hillsville, PA, a son of Anthony and Catherine Polis Carbon.

He was a life long resident of Struthers and was a 1961 graduate of Struthers High School.

He went on to receive a Bachelors Degree in Education at Youngstown State University and later his Masters from Kent State University. Anthony was a teacher at various Youngstown City Schools, retiring in 1997.

He was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish @ St. Nicholas Church. Anthony loved music and was a musician for 44 years playing in the Del Rays and the Music Co. He also taught the accordion at Tee Ross Music. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing.

Anthony's true passion was his family and valued the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Sharon O'Connell, whom he married Oct 2, 1965; one son, Anthony (Sherri) Carbon Jr. of Struthers; two daughters, Angela (Gene) Baker of Conyers, GA and Renee (David) Nackino of Lawrenceville, GA; four grandchildren, David Nackino, Jr., Nikki (Kenneth) Snipes, Toni Lin Carbon, and Anthony J. Carbon ; two great-grandchildren, Jackson Anthony Snipes and Mary Renee Snipes; one sister, Cynthia (William) Williams of Vienna; and his beloved dog, Izzy.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents.

A prayers service will be held Saturday at 9:30AM at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at Christ Our Savior Parish @ St. Nicholas Church. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.

Friends and family will be received Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
