Anne Carmel Rose Pinter

Lowellville - Anne Carmel Rose Pinter, 87, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 22, 2014 at Masternick Memorial Health Care Center with her daughter by her side.

Anne was born September 14, 1927 in Youngstown, one of six children of Mauro and Concetta Menichini in Lowellville.

She was a graduate of Lowellville High School, Class of 1946 and worked as a floor supervisor at Weatherbee Coats in Youngstown until the arrival of her children.

Anne met her husband, Henry Pinter of Youngstown, on a blind date. They married on August 25, 1956 and made their home in Lowellville. They were married 51 years when he passed away December 14, 2007.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville and, with her husband, served as chapter president of AFS Exchange Student Programs. Throughout the, 1970's and 1980's, her home was open to International students and their families. She is still called "mom" by Rune Myhre of Norway, Tom Fischer of Geneva, Switzerland, and her Brazilian son, Fred Diniz, currently of New York, New York.

Anne is survived by her daughter, Michelle "Missy" (Nick) Amendola of Lowellville; and her pride and joy, grandson Mauro and granddaughter Gia Nicole. She also is survived by a sister, Lillian Mangine of Lowellville; and a brother, Robert Menichini of Girard. She will be missed by many loving nieces and nephews.
She is happily reunited with her son, Daniel, who passed away in 1980 at the precious age of 14.

In addition to her parents and husband, and son, Anne was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Paul Menichini; and a sister, Mary Coppola.

A prayer service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 244 McGill St., Lowellville followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cemetery. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
