ANNE M. PATAK âa�" 89 POLAND âa�" Anne M. Patak, 89, of 2239 Edgewater Dr., died peacefully in her sleep Tuesday morning at her sonâa�a��s residence in Sanibel, Florida. Mrs. Patak was born on June 27, 1917 in Youngstown a daughter of Michael & Julia Kovach Megela. She was a 1935 graduate of Campbell High School, and a 1970 graduate of Youngstown State University, Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught at St. Nicholas School in Struthers for 12 years and volunteered her time at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Central School. She was a member of the St. Nicholas Byzantine Church in Campbell. Her husband Andrew J. Patak, whom she married August 5, 1939 died February 2, 1987. Mrs. Patak leaves one daughter, Dorothy (Walter) Kijowski of Boardman; one son, Ronald (Gail) Patak of Sanibel, Florida; two sisters, Mary Branch of Palmerton, Pennsylvania, Sue Battagline of Poland, Ohio; four grandchildren, Michele (Kenneth) Jones of Howland, Ohio, Scott (Lauri) Kijowski of Powell, Ohio, Stacey (David) Navarro of Dublin, Ohio, Kayla Patak of Sanibel Island Florida.; five great-grandchildren, Ryan, Justin & Lauren Jones, and Zachery & Lyndsey Kijowski. Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Bernat & Judy Maddocks. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Sunday at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland where prayer services will be held at 5:00 PM Sunday and Monday morning at 11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 12:00 noon at St. Nicholas Byzantine Church.
