Anne Estelle Norris

December 16, 1949 — January 18, 2024

Lowellville

Anne Estelle Norris, 74, of Lowellville, OH, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2024 following a brief illness.

Strong and willful from her first breath, she was born prematurely to Patricia and Richard Franklin in Elyria, OH on December 16, 1949, weighing a mere 2 lbs. She fought her way through emergency incubation to health, growing a persistent endurance that served her through hardships as a child and over the course of her adult life.

After graduating from Elyria Catholic High School in 1968, Anne accepted a position at a local hospital serving as a secretary in the pathology lab. It was here that she met Nicola Nicoloff, a med student performing a summer internship. They married in 1971 and started a family. As a mother, Anne loved and cared deeply for her children, instilling in them an appreciation for music, pop culture, and 1980s Top 40 radio. Casey Kasem’s Sunday broadcasts were a staple in her car on drives to and from church.

In 1998, Anne remarried her caring and dedicated husband, David S. Norris III. Over 25 years, they lifted each other up, sharing an abiding love that continued through her final moments.

If you were close to Anne, you knew that she loved The Bee Gees, Barry Manilow, Journey, and Elton John. She could never turn down a Dairy Queen Mister Misty, caramel cream, or strawberry milkshake. Anne loved to travel and be around people, to talk to them, to make connections. Her life was not without struggle, pain, and heartbreak, but she stood fast through the darkness, persisting until she could find a respite holding the quiet solace of peace.

As with her first breath, she fought to take her last, waiting for a moment spread out over eternity in which she could rest.

Anne leaves behind her aforementioned loving husband, David Norris III; children, Kristine (Andrew Young), Jennifer (Chad Adams), and David (Laurie Nicoloff); grandchildren, Tanner, Chase, Gabriel, Zachary, Elliott, Alexandra, and Zachariah; sister, Katherine; brothers, Christopher, Richard, and Charlie; brothers and sisters-in laws, Timmy, Laurie, Bill, Jan; and loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Patricia and Richard; in-laws, David II and Nancy; brother-in-law, Kenny; and her dear nephews, Logan and Dylan.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024,  at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring Street, Struthers, OH 44471.
