Struthers - Anne Mattis, 91, of Struthers, died Monday morning, February 28, 2011 at her home.
Mrs. Mattis was born October 24, 1919 in Struthers, a daughter of Michael and Anna Patrick Tablack.
She was a 1937 graduate of Struthers High School and was a homemaker. Mrs. Mattis was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Struthers, where she belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society, Infant Jesus of Prague Guild, and was a pirohy worker.
Her husband, Cyril T. Mattis, whom she married May 29, 1949, died August 2, 2008. She is survived by two sons, Cyril (Lynette) Mattis of Massillon and Robert Mattis of Struthers; daughter, Rebecca Mattis of Struthers; brother, John (Margaret) Tablack of Struthers; sister, Mary Baird of North Lima; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Alyssa Mattis, both of Massillon.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam and George Tablack.
A prayer service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church with Fr. Bernard Gaeta officiating. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday morning from 8:30- 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
