Anne M. Bencekovich, 87 Struthers- Anne M. Bencekovich, 87, of 1147 Runge Blvd. died Tuesday afternoon at The Greenbriar. Anne was born January 10, 1919 in Struthers, a daughter of John and Catherine Zupancic Zaluski. She was a life-long area resident. For over 23 years Anne worked as a cashier for Century Foods, Fisher Fazios and retired from Loblawâa�a��s . To support the war effort, Anne worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube during World War II. Anne was a member of St. Nicholas Church where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Senior Citizens group and for 11 years volunteered in the kitchen for Bingo. She was a member of VFW Post #3538 Ladies Auxiliary, AARP #3105, Auxiliary Seniors #1418 and Croation Lodge #504. Her husband Joseph Bencekovich whom she married October 10, 1936, died May 23, 1984; She leaves one daughter, Joan M. Plessinger and one son, Joseph Bencekovich both of Dayton; one brother, William Zaluski; three grandchildren, Todd Riebe, Brett Riebe, Lisa Boulter; one great-grandchild and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Anne was preceded in death by three brothers Stephen, John and Edward Zaluski. Services will be Friday 10:00 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home and 10:30 AM at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church. Friends may call Friday from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
