Anna Marie Hempstead

Struthers - Anna M. Hempstead, 79 of Struthers, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening August 7, 2019 at her home. She was born May 14, 1940 in Struthers, a daughter of John and Anna (Zupko) Rovnyak and had been a lifelong area resident.

She was a graduate of Struthers High School and retired as a mail teller for National City Bank. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church in Struthers. Anna enjoyed being a den mother for the Cub Scouts. She was an avid bowler and loved gardening, playing bingo, Polka music, cooking and baking. She will be forever remembered for her kindness and generosity toward others.

Her memory lives on with her children, Joey (Elaine) Hempstead of Canton, GA, Cathy Farkas (Alan Stuart) of Concord, NH., Steve Hempstead of Duluth, GA., Darlene Hempstead (Jeff BuCher) of Florence, KY., David Hempstead of Duluth, GA., and John Hempstead of Struthers; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Anna was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Rovnyak and John Rovnyak Jr.

Heaven gained another beautiful Angel.

Per Anna's wishes, there will be no services or calling hours.
